Volunteer: Academic Support Mentors 2026-2027Academic Support Mentors are paired with a teen in our Concentric Club program and meet every week for an hour (we help you and the teen determine the standing day/time) to do homework, talk, and/or gain confidence in English through reading together or watching videos together. It's our hope that the time will be teen-led (i.e. how does she want to spend the hour this week?) Meetings can be in the teen's home, at the nearest library, or virtual. When matching you with a teen, we take into consideration what subjects the teen anticipates needing help with and what you feel comfortable offering help with (i.e. "math isn't my strongest area" :) ), your comfort level around where you and teen meet, and your geographic location. You will receive a recorded 15-minute training video and access to a Google classroom filled with resources and activities. Matches will begin in late October and early November!
